Because of the change in the law regarding taxation of Pension Funds, 90% of clients in the first 5 years of operation were Pension Funds, including the

  • Motor Industry Pension Fund
  • Mine Workers’ Pension Fund, and
  • AECI Pension Fund

The cost factor of the assessment to all these clients was funded by the additional tax savings facilitated by Thoto through correct application of the tax laws regarding specific assets.

Recent Clients and Case Histories

Telkom Building Asset Capturing

This project involved the capturing of asset information (including building dimensions), GPS Co-ordinates, Zones etcetera in order to formulate CAD drawings; and also, in some cases measuring the height of masts and microwave towers. Over 140 000 digital photographs were taken.

Department of Justice

This project involved the capturing of asset information of approximately 800 Courts nationwide, including drawings of the site, building, and holding cells, in order to define a security concept. Over 30 000 digital photographs were taken.

Gauteng Provincial Government (GPG)

This project involved the capturing of asset information of approximately 1 400 properties owned by GPG, including residential houses, hostels, clinics, office blocks etcetera. Over 90 000 digital photographs were taken.

Distell (Pty) Ltd

This project was executed over a period of one year, and involved the capturing of asset information for all Distell’s assets all over South Africa – ranging from Distilleries and Office Blocks to Cellars. The project involved around 900 sites and over 2 000 buildings.

For all the above clients asset information was captured, and compiled in a generic format.
